RVR MICROSPEY REEL
We have been in development on the RVR reels for more than two years. We started with a groundbreaking and beautifully modern design and quickly found out how challenging it is to machine a reel this complex. No one had ever seen anything like it. The complexity and double anodized design of the RVR would prove too difficult to achieve on a conventional 3-Axis machine, so we sought out the newest 5-Axis machines available. The result speaks for itself.
SPECIALIZED TROUT REELS FOR A VARIETY OF TECHNIQUES.
Specifically designed for Micro Spey angling, this reel handles 3, 4, and 5 weight spey lines. This model features a full frame to prevent thin running line from slipping out of the reel. The weight of this reel has been carefully considered to balance the longer, two-handed rods used for Trout Spey. Reel capacities accommodate the wide variety of Scandi and Skagit style lines available.

What a sweet reel. Beautifully made, very impressive engineering, and amazing feel in hand and on the rod. Highly recommend.
RVR MICROSPEY REEL
First thing out of the box the reel felt light, but solid at the same time. Even though the new RVR has a larger diameter than the RX4. It also has a familiar feel of lineage to the RX4. But that’s where the similarity stops. The engineers have taken an modern approach to the design of this reel. The beautiful scalloped machine work on the sold frame, the redesign of the handle which feels just right, and the new spool release is easy to use. A counter balance on the spool is so seamless that it becomes unnoticeable. However, the laced spokes of the spool undeniably scream, I am new, and ready to perform!
Which gets me to the important stuff. The drag is smooth, strong, and quiet! Even while fishing on a cold winter day, I had no problems with freezing up, even after repeated dunking. Also, I tested the reel on the Winston MS 10’6” 3wt. and, the 11’ 4wt. The reel balanced brilliantly on both. The RVR felt just right!
